About Us

MWAC is a family owned business established in 1992 that has achieved and maintained very high standards through building professional and ongoing working partnerships with our clients.

The owners play an active role in the day-to-day operations of the organization and have a total of 45 years of experience in Poultry/Slaughter/Processing and RTE Facility; a significant portion of that experience is in the Poultry Processing with the most senior owner having over 20 years, experience at one of the largest owned poultry slaughter processing facilities in Canada as a Sanitation Supervisor.

Through our partnerships we have developed best practice methods and established client specific standards, by utilizing our combined years of expertise and experience, we are able to maximize efficiencies, ensure safety and meet legislation compliance. Most importantly, we are able to reduce costs by minimizing contaminants that would adversely affect the quality of finished products produced, impacting the profitability and return on investment (ROI).

Who We Are

The Pereira brothers learned everything they know about the commercial sanitation industry from their late father Jose, who worked at Maple Lodge Farms in the 70s. The elder Pereira worked diligently in the sanitation industry, and later trained his three sons, Joe Pereira, Nel Pereira and Paulo Pereira.

In 1992, the Pereira brothers founded Maintenance with A Class, known as MWAC; a full service business that offers Commercial Food Plant Sanitation and Janitorial Services for medium and large businesses.

Currently MWAC, services over 35, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) inspected plants food plants in Ontario, which are certified in British Retail Consortium (BRC), Safe Quality Food (SQF) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) serving major retail grocery stores.

The company prides itself on its philosophy of establishing partnerships with their customers so that guidelines, procedures and best practices can be developed with each individual customer.

MWAC uses rigorous and multiple self-inspections to ensure quality of work for their customers. The brother's direct involvement on the ground level inside the food plants, ensures that there is a high level of consistent sanitation completed on a nightly basis.

The Pereira brothers ensure that all their staff are highly trained and that the company owners do daily pre-ops, nightly inspections, food safety meetings, sanitation on-sites with CFIA, OMAFRA inspectors and certified auditors from BRC, SQF, Quality Assurance Inc. (QAI), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and other food safety standards as well as Provincial and Federal inspectors.

Proper and safe sanitation is of the utmost importance for MWAC. The company has developed programs for deep cleaning specialized machines for its customers that utilize dismantling, soaking and steaming various parts of machinery to ensure it is safe to produce food.

All managing partners, supervisors and employees regularly attend training sessions facilitated by Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC) and HRH Food Processing HR Council; reputable chemical companies allowing them to stay-up-to-date on the latest technology and techniques in the industry.
